I got to attend the NAMM show for the first time ever and must say it was pretty awesome. Just being in the same area with tons of musicians, technicians and practically anyone else involved in the music that’s been a part of all of our lives, was surreal.
I took a few pictures, not too many since I’m horrible at remembering to take pics! I’ll work on that in 2014 I promise..
Wow such an amazing month of October for me. I entered a Dave and Busters/ Redbull Southern California DJ Mix-Off in Irvine, California on October 10th. Dave and Busters, along with Redbull, toured 4 Southern California Dave and Busters locations to find 8 finalist for the grand prize of $5,000.
I made it past the first round in Irvine on August 15th, 2013. Then won the final round in Irvine on October 10th. Pretty awesome experience. All the DJs did a great job on the battle. I actually played my set more for the crowd and the judges rather than playing for the DJs like us DJ usually would do. I think that was the secret to my success on this one.
Being a battle DJ at heart it has been very tough for me to get used to this new form of “DJ battles”. Times have changed, and it’s harder and harder to find a “true” DJ battle these days. I can truly say the DJ art form is evolving and changing right now, so I’m interested and excited to see where it will go.

I figured I’d start posting some cool stuff about my equipment I really enjoy using as a DJ. Today I must tell you about the absolute BEST needle’s (cartridges) I’ve been using for over 10 years now. The Shure M-447’s with the Technic headshells.
I promise these are the best needles ever made for DJing. The sound output is perfect. And for all the scratching DJ’s out there, they literally learn your style and adjust to the point they really do not skip.
Just thought I’d share that with you all. Awesome stuff.
